It's been a while... I was busy catching up with my family, work, and tonight with friends.

We need some pictures for our dining room wall.  No fruits nor flowers are allowed! The obvious choice is therefore the most important ingredient after any meal.  Not that I need a reminder...

We need five in total and the frames we bought are square-shaped. I took some trial shots this morning.  The one above is my favourite though I'm not so sure how it looks in a square frame.  I had to tilt it to fit the square shape - and I'm considering retaking it to show more of the background after the crop.

The two below will probably be used...  The two I haven't included in this post are a close of an espresso machine, and of traditional Arabic coffee with dates.  I have to retake the former with a white cup - to maintain the theme.  The latter needs to be repeated to remove my camera from the reflection on the dalla.

Your comments and suggestion are, as always, welcomed and appreciated.

Really good pix! Makes me want to have another cup of coffee right now.

Last one's my fav. I love the color contrast and the detail/blur contrast.

I like the first one too, but I'd like it even more had the cup/glass been centered in the pic.

What's wrong with fruit/flowers?

I like the second one over the first one (although I wouldn't have centered the first one either). Something about the second makes me think of the US traditional coffee drinker - half asleep and needing it to wake up. And I like the last one - keeps in theme with the beans from the second one. The scattered beans also lend to the slightly chaotic tilt of the second photo.

Thank you... Do you think the whole cup should show (as mentioned by N) - or do you like it as-is?

:) Thanks

That's a good idea. The Arabic coffee is probably out of place in the series. I will take close-up shots of the beans instead.
