Big Bird

I spend a lot of time in the air. I have done for more than fifteen years.  It's fair to say that whist I don't hate flying, there isn't much out there that impresses me! This was the first time, in a long time, when I was actually excited about a flight.

I am an engineer at heart;  I love design and gadgets.  This aircraft, regardless of the airline, is something I've been waiting to see for some time.

Size is what hits you most.  No matter how many times I say it's big, it isn't not enough.  This is a huge aircraft, one that seems to defy the very laws of Physics that make it possible for it to get off the ground.  The massive engines dwarf all the airport vehicles servicing the plane.  My personal historic voyage went well, and I very much enjoyed the experience.

It's not easy getting shots of this monster.  Below is a short video of my first landing into Paris last Sunday.  Listen to how amazingly quiet they managed to make the inside. It's probably one of the quietist planes I've been on.  The new tail-mounted camera fitted on Emirates planes is just brilliant.

Good... There is even a bar in the back of business class. But for me the impressive part is how something this big, goes up in the air :)

I haven't been on this plane yet, but I want to try it some time soon, but I don't have any flights which take the route of this plane! It is seriously an impressive feat of engineering!
